"The board of directors of Vestas Wind Systems A/S has received a thorough briefing on the conditions which during the last months have led to profit warnings," the company said in a statement. "As a consequence of this, CFO and deputy CEO, Henrik Norremark, resigns."

The statement provided no further details.

The announcement that Norremark, who was designated last month to become chief operating officer, had quit came on the eve of Vestas' fourth-quarter report.

Furthermore, Chairman Bent Erik Carlsen, Deputy Chairman Torsten Erik Rasmussen and board member Freddy Frandsen also will not stand for re-election.
